Family Resource Supervisor

Established in 1992, Hispanic Services Council’s mission is to increase access and opportunities for Latinos and influence the systems that serve them. HSC is a private, non-profit organization whose work focuses on developing opportunities that result in an educated, healthy, prosperous, and engaged Latino community.  To achieve our mission and purpose, our programs focus on increasing the academic performance of Latino children through parental involvement, improving healthy living and nutrition, and improving the quality of life through civic engagement of Latinos at all levels in our community.

 

Job Description:

Professional work supervising assigned Family Resource Specialist of the Pathways to Hope Program. Participates in and provides leadership in the overall performance & quality improvement efforts to meet outcomes.  Collaborates with the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County and Hillsborough County School personnel to ensure consistency of services.  Works closely with the leadership of Hispanic Services Council and Metropolitan Ministries’ Housing, Employment and Education Department to develop strategies to provide needed services to the families.

 

Scope and Key Responsibilities:

1.               Selects, supervises, and trains Family Resource Specialist program staff.  Responsible for completing employee evaluations on those directly supervised and for ensuring that an effective employee development, discipline and recognition programs are implemented

2.               Provides daily coaching and support to Family Resource Specialist to include weekly clinical supervision.

3.               Serves as representative with community partners regarding the Pathways to Hope program as needed.

4.               Works collaboratively with leadership of cross-functional teams to address barriers to programming.

5.               Monitors ongoing progress and needs within the family and supportive services. Ensures families are linked to services and natural support systems as stated in the Family Support Plan.

6.               Monitors progress of files for Quality Assurance on families.

7.               Monitor’s budget and approves service request for Administrative Service Organization ASO with the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County.

 

 

8.               Collects and reports on data for CBHC on a monthly and quarterly basis.

9.               Monitors, reviews, and evaluates outcomes.

10.            Works with the Director of Community Based Programs to monitor contractual agreements and coordinate staff training needs.

11.            Attends meetings, training and conferences as directed.  May serve on both internal and external committees as directed.

12.            Supports the team in other tasks as assigned and attend all team meetings. 

13.            Provides interim caseload supervision and case management oversight in the absence of the Family Resource Specialist, maintaining service delivery standards and ensuring all client needs and program obligations are met without interruption.

14.            Attends outreach events at schools, provider organizations and in any other community events to promote program services. Event schedules vary and may include evening hours after 5 PM.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:  Master’s degree in Social Work or Human Services field required; 2 years supervisory experience and 3-5 years of Case Management experience.

 

Skill Requirements: 

·       Requires understanding of poverty, a high degree of maturity, strong inter-personal skills and the ability to work with low socio-economic and diverse populations facing crisis situations in a professional and diplomatic manner. 

·       Requires Spanish and English language fluency, verbal and written. 

·       Ability to deescalate clients on the edge of verbal or physical violence.

·       Ability to work as part of a team within a multi-disciplinary framework. 

·       Demonstrates computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. 

·       Requires oral and written communication skills and the ability to write reports and conduct and participate in meetings.

Other:  Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must pass required background pre-employment screening.  Requires a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. 

 

Additional Information

There are many program areas of Hispanic Services Council; many of those program areas cross over into others.  It is critical for each member of any program area to be willing to work with all other programs, all staff members of those programs and all clients of those programs.  We all have a common goal of working with others to ensure HSC’s mission of increasing access and opportunities for Latinos is carried out.
