HOW TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER:

In order to provide the families, we serve the best experience and service possible, we require all potential volunteers to go through an assessment before becoming official Hispanic Services Council volunteers.

Applications can be found on our Volunteer Hub Website.  The process can take anywhere from 1-2 weeks to process and approve. After your paperwork is processed, you will be contacted with detailed instructions as it relates to the next steps based on the opportunities you selected. Please note, that volunteer needs may vary by the target community in which we are located.

Minors will need to have their Volunteer/Parent consent form filled out and emailed to Volunteer Resources Liaison.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

After completing the application online:

  • You will be contacted through email to set up an interview

  • The orientation date will be set

  • Background Check Information will be sent

  • Community Shadowing date will be set

  • Prospective volunteer will meet coordinator and receive training

  • Start as an Official Volunteer!

WHY DO I NEED A BACKGROUND CHECK?

Due to the nature of our work working with children and youth, select volunteer positions must successfully complete a criminal background check before starting with us. Hispanic Services Council will be the one to pay for the background check. Once your application is approved you will be asked to complete this on your own time. Please contact us with any questions you  may have related to the background check.

Potential volunteers under the age of 18 do not need to complete a background check.
