Becoming a U.S. Citizen
Like many immigrants who’ve come to this great land of ours, Hispanics everywhere share the desire, commitment and belief in the American dream. They hope to become part of our country’s fabric by obtaining citizenship and creating a brighter future for themselves and their families.
Today, Latinos face several challenges when pursuing naturalization. From high application fees – to processing delays – to their obvious language barriers and limited access to programs; Hispanics throughout our community lack the supports and services needed to help meet their naturalization eligibility requirements.
We're here for you!
The Hispanic Services Council (HSC) is aware of these challenges, and has partnered with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and Catholic Charities in providing naturalization supports to Hillsborough County’s Hispanic community. Through this unique partnership, HSC offers orientation to legal permanent residents seeking to become American citizens by:
• Assisting with application package
• Conducting citizenship and naturalization courses
• Preparing individuals for successful interviews
• Once naturalized, HSC will even assist with voter registration
