Parenting Skills Facilitator

Job Description: 

Under the supervision of the Parenting Skills Coordinator, The PSF is Primarily responsible for teaching The Incredible Years sessions to Elementary school parents in each community. Quarterly family integration activities with parents and Children. Responsible for data collection on community participants and Report on Activities.

 Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. With the help of the Elementary Community Coordinators, recruit 273 parents to enroll in the Incredible Years curriculum.

2. Organize a weekly calendar and track its implementation and results.

3. Collect and maintain participant data: Attendance logs, files, in perfect order and confidentiality.

4. Monitor database performance and interpret raw data and turn it into actionable feedback. (participant satisfaction surveys, participant opinions and suggestions, etc.). 

5.  Use materials provided for all activities in perfect order.

6. Write a quarterly report based on information needs and meet deadlines.

7. Attend parenting skills staff meeting once a week.

8. Attend monthly La Red staff meeting, and HSC meetings as assigned.

9. Attend outside meetings, trainings, and conferences as assigned.

10. May serve on internal and external committees as assigned.

11. Fill in for a Parenting Skills Facilitator during a vacation or vacancy as directed.

12. Perform all duties and activities within the guidelines established by the mission, vision, goals and policies of HSC.

13. Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

 Professional Education, Desired knowledge, skills, and experience

 

●       High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 or more years of working experience with communities in need.

●       Strong Verbal communication skills Bilingual in Spanish and English Preferred (verbal and written), strong public speaking and presentation skills.

 

●       Strong Problem-solving skills

●       Data analysis skills

●       Computer proficiency and knowledge of how to use MS office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Able to quickly learn how to use video-conferencing platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams.

●       Comfortable working with diverse populations and in diverse settings (virtual, in-person, churches, homeless, community organizations, inside and outside locations, etc.).

●       Ability to relate to people regardless of age, background, culture, education, experience, and/or language.

●       Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

●       Self-motivated with an ability to work in teams as well as work independently with minimal supervisory direction to accomplish established goals.

●       Have reliable transportation, driver’s license, and auto insurance

●       Flexibility in work schedule and programmatic requirements. Available to work some evenings and some weekends

●       Ability to organize information, events, schedule, and program activities.

●       Pass a level 2 background check.

●       Able to lift 25-pound (12kg) boxes and transport them to various locations.

 

This position is grant funded and hours may be reduced or eliminated based on funding sources.
